CP4P: Theatre of Cultural Resistance Workshop

Saturday, February 7 | In this introductory workshop, we will begin with movement, working to identify each individual body and its potential for acting in the space. Then we will work towards creating a group dynamic, the group being a necessary vessel for cultural transmission. Finally, we will explore resistance through the body - the body of the individual, the body of the group, and the body of a chosen text.

Participants can expect:
-A large, empty, and accessible space
-Participants should wear athletic, plain black clothing (no logos, words, or images)
-Drinking water
-Lite brunch

AUDREY DÉGEZ will lead the workshop, which will be followed by a showing of the developing theatre piece, ДрімМати. The title is a play on words with Ukrainian meaning akin to "Dream-mother." The piece is looking at the sleepless nights many people in Ukraine have faced in the past few years, with constant bomb sirens.

Event Schedule:
10:00am - 10:45am - Participant Arrival & Brunch
10:45 - 12:15 - Workshop
12:15pm - Performance

*Our Breeze ticket system allows different levels to be given for this event so we can grant financial accessibility to everyone who wants to join. We ask that participants pay what they are able to support the event - thank you!
